Navy will give Jet Schedules for Oak Harbor and San Juans

There is a monumental change in this notice for Jet Schedules!

The Navy is now trying to let the folks in Oak Harbor and the San Juans know when they will be doing FCLPs and CCAs. These are the two practices that most involve low flying aircraft. A CCA is “Controlled Carrier Approach”.

People in Oak Harbor have been asking for this notification for a LONG TIME.

THERE WILL STILL BE NORMAL LANDING AND TAKEOFFS FROM ALT FIELD.

THIS JUST TO LET FOLKS IN THE NORTH KNOW ABOUT LOW FLYING FCLPs AND CCAs LIKE WE AROUND THE OLF KNOW.

The OLF has no practice next week.

Bad news for San Juans, with only the one runway in use…

Jets May 4 & 5 2016

Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) operations for aircraft stationed at NAS Whidbey Island are scheduled to occur at the Outlying Field (OLF) in Coupeville, Wash., on May 4 & 5, 2016.

On Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 & 5, FCLPs at OLF Coupeville are scheduled for mid to late afternoon.

Be careful with your Cinco de Mayo plans…

Jets at OLF

Jets will be flying at the OLF all week. If the weather is nice, it’s going to be a pretty hellish week for people in the prairie. This is a great time to schedule some visits to friends on the mainland. Apologies in advance to the school kids who have no options.
