Noise from Whidbey Island and its new fleet of Navy jets will be under the microscope when Citizens of the Ebey Reserve present an informational town hall, Saturday, March 15, at the Friday Harbor Grange.
The two-hour town hall, beginning at 11:30 a.m., is presented with assistance of the San Juan County Democratic Party, which invites its members and public to attend, but has not taken position on the controversial topic, according to party chairman David Dehlendorf.
Outspoken in its opposition to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station’s EA-18G electronic warfare aircraft, also known as “Growlers”, Citizens of the Ebey Reserve is seeking an end to the Navy’s use as the “Outlying Landing Field,” near Coupeville, and, ultimately, an outright end to the Growler test flights.
