The Navy will be taking OLF Coupeville out of operational status starting on 12 November for electrical maintenance. The Navy anticipates that full repairs will take between four to six weeks to complete, and during that time, there will be no FCLP operations at Coupeville.
Consistent with the Navy’s ongoing notification practice, the installation will continue to send weekly releases and update their Facebook page with the upcoming week’s flight schedules. The Navy is currently projecting no flights between 12 November and 9 December, potentially continuing through the end of the calendar year.
Given the time of year, the maintenance schedule will be dependent on weather and other typical factors. Should the field be required due to emergent national tasking, the Navy could rapidly restore day FCLP operations prior to project completion. The OLF will be available for operations upon completion of the project though scheduling will continue to be dependent upon squadron deployments.
