COER Gets Matching Gift

Double your gift to help Roll Back Growler Jet Noise

Dear Friends and Neighbors, we filed our Preliminary Injunction to Roll Back The Noise!

COER’s Preliminary Injunction, filed on February 13th, seeks to roll back Growler training at the Coupeville OLF to pre-2019 levels until a final decision is made under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) lawsuit against the Navy.

While COER seeks to roll back Growler jet noise in Central Whidbey, we suggest to the court that Growler operations be moved to one or more environmentally suited off-Whidbey locations available to the Navy. As a member of the Sound Defense Alliance, COER supports moving Growler operations out of NW Washington.

COER takes this legal action on behalf of the environment, our health and safety, and for our families and businesses — AND it has DOUBLED our legal costs! Doing the right thing comes with a hefty price tag! We hope you’ll share this historic responsibility with us.

Luckily, a matching gift of $50,000 has just been received to encourage a community-wide match! Our goal is to raise $100,000 by April 1st. This means that your gift will be doubled while it helps fuel our legal battles to roll back more Growler jets, flights and unbearable noise.

Response to our appeal has been amazing! Thanks to all of you early respondents who have given – your gifts will be included in our match! Your donation will keep our arguments in front of the judge and our attorneys in the courtroom. Unlike the Navy’s unlimited legal resources – our ability to make legal challenges depends on you and your continued financial assistance. Over the past 8 years, we have always been able to bank on your support.

Our recent organizing success shows that the more community support we have, the more likely we are to prevail. That’s why your help is so important. We’re in this fight to win and we’re counting on you.

Our Injunction motion articulates strong legal arguments backed up with compelling citizen, municipal, and expert declarations. The courtroom will expose and amplify the harm and duress our community is suffering.

Please donate here:
or by sending your check to COER, P. O. Box 202, Coupeville, WA, 98239. Make checks payable to COER or COER Charitable if you want a tax deduction. We’ve already gained important momentum toward our goal!

We thank each of you for your support — and urge you to make your gift TODAY for the future of Central Whidbey, Whidbey Island, and our entire region. Thanks!

In appreciation, COER’s Board of Directors

P.S. Your help will keep us in the courtroom. Together, we can Roll Back the Noise! Please share this message.
