ENVIRO-FILM SCREENING April 3rd 3:30-6:30pm PT

Please join Sound Defense Alliance for our second film screening in our Enviro-Film Series! We are excited to screen the film, NO DEFENSE, directed by Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Sara Ganim and produced by Emmy-award winning journalist Lennart Bourin.

NO DEFENSE is an hour-long documentary telling the story of the Americans fighting against one of the largest- known polluters in the country – the United States military. NO DEFENSE highlights the people who are suffering, who are blowing the whistle, and who are fighting the United States’ military war on water. Join the event to hear the stories of veterans, parents, workers, and more who trusted the military and were harmed by its actions.

For decades, it has been documented that a category of chemicals known as PFAS are harmful to life, yet at the time of the film production, the military continued to mandate its use at hundreds of sites across the country, with no plan in place to clean it up. Instead, the DOD was pressuring regulators to keep this toxin legal.

Stay after the screening for a panelist discussion and Q&A with local and national speakers who will talk about new regulations, what local organizations are doing to combat PFAS pollution, and how our own Navy on Whidbey Island has contributed to our water’s PFAS contamination.

Admission to the screening is free.

Online Film Screening: Monday, April 3rd from 3:30PM – 6:30PM Pacific
